Russian Empire. The medal is founded on January 21, 1906. Light-bronze medal awarded: a) generals, officers, the bottom ranks of military and sea departments, ranks of the state militia, boundary guards and the volunteers who were taking part in fights; b) all cool and medical ranks, priests, hospital attendants and the sisters of mercy fulfilling the duties during military operations; c) persons of all estates awarded by a distinction of the Military award or the medal "For Bravery".
