The Russian Empire. 1914-17. Charity jetton of the Russian Zemstvo Union " Serbia. To help the victims of the war." Jettons were distributed by volunteers for a nominal fee in crowded places (makerts, central streets, near churches, at charity events). The mug collections of the First World War are one of the remarkable pages of Russian charity. This type of social activity was based on the traditions of Russian society to hold charity meetings, fairs, lotteries. The number of charitable organizations, in addition to state ones, numbered more than seven thousand.
