National Fascist party (ital. Partito Nazionale Fascista; PNF) — the Italian far-right political party created in 1921 by Benito Mussolini for realization of ideology of fascism. The Italian union of fight headed by Mussolini was a predecessor of Fascist party.

Since 1921 the party was included into the Italian parliament, in 1924 has received parliamentary majority, since 1928 became the only legal party in the country before fall of the regime of Mussolini in 1943.

The word comes from Latin "fascis" that will be marked by birches, rods. Masters in ancient Rome carried a bunch of the connected rods behind the back - a fascine, used at punishments. In military time of power of masters allowed to apply him the death penalty therefore in a bunch the axe was stuck.
