№122490 Jetton of the Warsaw fortress

Russian Empire. The commemorative jetton served in the Warsaw Fortress from fellow soldiers. February 8, 1910. Silver, 84 samples (test label "blade"), name "IL." Sign of the consignment note. On an obverse a flag and an emblem of fortress, on a reverse an engraving of "№21 Ja.V.N". in the second line "From fellow" and date.

Between 1832 and 1834, the central part of the fortress, the Alexander Citadel, was built. In 1835, Fort Slivitsky (named after the regiment buried in it) was built opposite the citadel on the right bank of Visla. Slivitsky). In 1850-1861, a number of separate fortifications were built around the citadel: Vladimir, Alexey, Pavel, Georgy, Sergei. In 1881 it was decided to strengthen Warsaw according to the Highest approved plan. In 1883 it was started to erect the forts of the 1st line, and in 1886 the forts of the 2nd line. From 189th all brick structures were replaced by concrete structures, and from 1895 forts were rebuilt and rearmed. In 1910, the fortress was abolished due to a change in strategic plans.
