№122441 badge of the Order of St. Anna of the 4th class

Russian Empire. The badge of the Order of St. Anna of the 4th class for cold weapons.

Anninsky Weapon, the unofficial name of the Russian award weapon (sword, saber, dirk) with the Order of St. Anna of the third degree attached to it (since 1797). With the addition of the fourth degree of the order in 1815, his badge began to be attached at the top of the hilt of the saber and on the handle of the dirk. Since 1828, Anninsky weapons have relied on a red ribbon with a yellow border. Since 1829, the inscription "For Bravery" was placed on the hilt of the Anninsky weapon. On infantry swords and naval half-ships, the Anninsky straps ended with a round red pompom, which received the name "cranberry" in army jargon, which also passed into the navy.
