Romania. Medal "Crusade against Communism". It is founded 01.04.1942 by decree No. 1014 of the king Mihai I for rewarding of the military personnel of all types of military forces of the Romanian army and the civilians who were involved in combat operations in East front. The medal also awarded allies of Romania – Germans, Italians, Hungarians and Slovaks.

At delivery of a medal by the German serviceman its name – soldier's books and references – was specified in the German documents as Kriegserrinerungsmedaille "Kreuzzug gegen den Kommunismus".

On an obverse of a medal the female profile symbolizing freedom and the inscription "România recunoscătoare" ("Grateful Romania") located in the lower part a semicircle is represented. Directly under a bust on the medals (so-called 1st type) which are rapped out in Romania the name of the author of the sketch is entered: "P .Grant", and on the medals which are rapped out in Germany and Austria (the 2nd type) this inscription is absent.

On a medal reverse against the background of a cross the hand squeezing a sword handle is represented and date of the entry of Romania in war against the USSR – "1941" is specified. On a circle the inscription is located: "· Cruciada Împotriva · Comunismului" ("Crusade against communism").

The medal with a diameter of 32 mm was made of bronze and minted in Romania (mint of Bucharest).
