№121896 Civil official’s sword, model 1855.
Russian Empire. Sword of a high‑ranking naval official. Zlatoust, 1866. Belonged to Theodor Lang, governor of the Turku and Pori district (Grand Duchy of Finland).
The grip is cast, gilded, intertwined with brass wire, and decorated with a relief ornament. The shield is pierced and features the state eagle. The lanyard is made of twisted silver braid with a naval department insignia. The blade is straight, with a rectangular cross‑section, and tapering to a point at the end. The scabbard is made of wood and covered with leather.
Gilded bronze, steel, leather. Overall length 850 mm, blade length 740 mm. Thickness at the guard: max. 9 mm.
