The Russian Empire. The insignia of the Order of St. Anne. It was established on November 12, 1796. Initially, the badge was awarded to soldiers and non-commissioned officers for 20 years of impeccable service or refusal of another vacation, as well as for personal bravery. Badge No. 12462 was issued during the reign of Emperor Nicholas II in the period from 1894 to 1917. At the beginning of the twentieth century, they were also awarded for suppressing revolutionary protests.
The insignia of the Order of St. The Anna Medal, which became popularly known as the Anninsky Medal, was established in order to be able to celebrate the lower ranks. It was established on 12.11.1796 by decree of Paul I. to award lower ranks (soldiers and non-commissioned officers) without penalties for those who have served a 20-year term. In addition, the owners of this badge were exempted from corporal punishment.
Since 1864, the accounting of Anninsky medals has been started from scratch. Starting in 1888, a new addition appeared, according to which the award was made for the 10th anniversary of the long-term service. In this case, the medal should have been worn without a bow. If the recipient of such an award later received the Anninsky medal for special distinctions, then he was awarded one bow. Such an award was to be worn constantly until its owner was promoted to the rank of officer.
