USSR. Medal for 20 years of service in the Ministry of Internal Affairs (police) of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic.
Medals were awarded from May 2, 1960 to August 8, 1962. The appearance of medals of this type is associated with the transfer of powers of the central All-Union Ministry of Internal Affairs to the ministries of the Union republics. Such medals were issued only by five republics: the RSFSR, the Moldavian SSR, the Armenian SSR, the Tajik SSR and the Lithuanian SSR. On the reverse in the center there is an inscription in three lines “FOR 20 (15, 10) YEARS OF IMPECCABLE SERVICE”. In the lower part of the reverse, an inscription runs around the circumference indicating the Ministry of Internal Affairs of one of the 5 above-mentioned union republics. In the upper part of the reverse there is a small five-pointed star.
Nickel silver, enamel.
