Latvia 1918-1940.  The badge of the 1st Zemgale Cavalry regiment.

Compound of three parts, on an obverse an inscription "God. Fatherland. Regiment." and date - 1919. On reverse number 2301.

In 1919 at a number of shooting regiments separate cavalry squadrons which were united on March 12, 1921 in a separate regiment which was based in Daugavpils were created. Initially consisted of 700 riders, as of 1940 - 61 officers and 916 people of staff. The sign of the 1st Zemgale cavalry regiment - only numbered from actually regimental signs of Latvia.
