The Russian Empire. Dark bronze medal in memory of the Crimean War of 1853-1856. It is much rarer than light bronze. Only 200 thousand medals were issued at the St. Petersburg Mint.
Were awarded:
- on the St.George's Ribbon: all ranks of the separate Caucasian case the being involved in military operations, all sea ranks who were involved in the Sinop battle and also all participants of protection of Petrovavlovsk on Kamchatka.
- on the Andreevsky ribbon: all other ranks of army and fleet which were involved in military operations. And also the women who were in military hospitals in the war zone, the women who got the medal "For Protection of Sevastopol", etc. medals.
- on the Vladimir ribbon: all ranks of the state militia, the officials, priests and nurses who were at the troops which were involved in military operations.
