Russian empire. Badge in memory of the centenary (1798-1898) of the Pavlovsk military school.
Pavlovsk military school (until 1894 – 1st military Pavlovsk school) was created in 1863 by decree of Emperor Alexander II from special classes of the Pavlovsk cadet corps. 300 cadets, divided into 4 companies, were trained for two years. Since 1882, the staff has been increased to 400 Junkers. During the First world war, there were accelerated four-month training courses, and the staff of the school was increased to 1000 Junkers. Over 50 years of existence, the school has trained 7,730 officers, 52 of them became knights of the order of St. George. On November 6, 1917, the school was disbanded.
