The badge was established on October 8, 1913. The school was founded in 1864 as the Moscow Military School, and in 1906, the heir to the throne, Grand Duke Alexei Nikolaevich, was appointed its chief, and the school was named the Alexeyevsky School. In November 1917, the school was disbanded.
