It was established on December 31, 1831 by the decree of Emperor Nicholas I, simultaneously with the medal "For the capture of Warsaw by assault". The insignia was awarded to the lower ranks who participated in the suppression of the Polish uprising. In total, 100 thousand signs were minted at the St. Petersburg Mint. The cross was worn on the chest in a common pad along with medals, arranged in the order of their award.

White metal, private manufacture. Size 30.91*35.26mm. The weight is 4.5 grams. The reverse of the cross is slightly worn out in the process of existence. They were worn on a blue ribbon with a black border. Very rare.
