Russian Empire. Badge for students of higher educational institutions, made as ensigns for military distinctions on the basis of command. The sign for students is a blue cross with superimposed swords placed on a white rhombus. On top is a double-headed eagle with a shield on its chest, in the shield is the monogram of the Emperor "HII."
In wartime, production was allowed as ensigns for military merits, without an exam and 3-6 months of study at the school of ensigns, non-commissioned officers with higher and secondary education.
