№121188 Russian bayonet SVT-40
USSR. The bayonet of the 1940 model to the SVT-40 self-loading rifle. Nickel-plated version for the honor guard.
The bayonet was used with a self-loading rifle and a carbine of the Tokarev SVT-40 system and an automatic rifle of the Tokarev AVT-40 system. The 1940 bayonet was developed on the basis of the 1938 bayonet for the 1938 Tokarev system self-loading rifle. The length of the blade differs from the prototype.
The blade of the bayonet is single-edged, with a dale on both sides. The handle is formed by two wooden cheeks fastened to the shank with two screws. In the handle head there is a T-shaped groove and a spring latch with an internal arrangement of a spiral spring, at the spring latch button there is a safety collar. The crosspiece is straight with a ring for the barrel on the side of the blade butt. The scabbard is steel, with two brackets for the belt.
The total length is 360 mm. The length of the blade is 240 mm. The nickel plating on the blade has come off in places.
