It was established by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of May 25, 1979. The medal “For Strengthening the Combat Commonwealth” is awarded to military personnel, employees of state security agencies, internal affairs and other citizens of the Warsaw Pact member States, as well as other socialist and other friendly states for their services in strengthening the combat commonwealth and military cooperation.
About 20,000 people were awarded the medal “For strengthening the Military Community”.
